This award is given to schools who are Title I eligible, in the top quartile of the state poverty rates and have above-average student academic performance scores on the 2009-10 Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts Examinations in reading and mathematics when compared to schools of similar size, grade configuration, poverty level and district size, an have met adequate yearly progress indicators for the last two years.  Drummond High School has also been a recipient of two awards.

Schools receiving the award are invited to the State Capitol for a recognition ceremony; given $2000 for school-related purposes; receive a recognition plaque and award logo to use on school materials; are eligible to compete for a $250,000 Wisconsin Schools of Recognition grant; and teachers in the school are eligible to compete for the Wisconsin Schools of Recognition Teacher Fellowship Program.  Additionally, Drummond Elementary will receive a flag to commemorate the school's fifth consecutive award.

We are very proud to receive these awards in recognition of the continued high level of academic performance demonstrated by our students.

ANNUAL MEETING AND BUDGET HEARING
The public is invited to attend the Annual Meeting and Budget Hearing on September 29 at 7:00 PM in the auditorium.
SCHOOL GARDEN JULY 12
The fruits of the students' labor are taking shape.  At the end of school this year the elementary students spent a part of their day planting the school garden.  Planted were: corn, scarlet runner beans, squash, cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes, pumpkins and marigolds for color.  With the great growing weather this summer, the marigolds have all but disappeared below the greenery.  The harvest will be served to students in the fall during lunches.
